Missed Opportunity

My efforts to connect Kerala schools to collaborate, contribute and learn from my PLN personal learning network, a group of proactive teachers from across the world has not been successful, despite continual efforts.

I felt sad as I read Mrs. Morgan's Blog. Her lucky second graders meet and learn from Astronauts! Even our college grads are denied such opportunities, due to apathy and change resistance here in Kerala.

Weeks ago, Sherman, a teacher deeply in love with Mathematics, had sent me an invitation.
I talked with many a teacher and asked her to connect her school with Sherman. Unfortunately, they lost a great opportunity. I shall keep trying to help Kerala.

Sherman is on a Skypathon; he wants to teach a hundred different schools this year, connecting with them on Skype. His students had an interaction with my school last week.

Hopefully, I will be able to present my proactive teachers, a handful of  young school boys and girls at Malaysia. Radiant has invited us. I hope we are up to her challenge.

Veronica Woo, a.k.a. Radiant invited me when I told her about Anne Mirtschin's presentation, with me as co-facilitator, to teachers and students of Kerala, at the inauguration of Nanma ICT centre, which the Chief Minister of Kerala inaugurated on 11 February 2012.

Children: The Global Gladiators

My friend Armando, a member of my PLN, Hello Little World Skypers, has started a project.

He has embarked on a global language adventure. His VoiceThread project envisage translation of Khalil Gibran's poem on children, to be read in all languages by all nationalities of the world!!

Challenged, I have volunteered to make the mark of God's Own Country, on this embedded VoiceThread.

I have a great friend, a Malayalam poet and blogger, Jos Antony. I am getting the poem translated into Malayalam by Jos Antony. The poem will be recited by Elizabeth Johny or Manju Jojo, both members of Hello Little World Skypers.

I have invited my friend in Egpt too. Mariam El Agamy may help in translating it to Arabic and have one of her students recite the peom at VoiceThread. WOW! The accordance of technology!!
